The Treatment

During an acupuncture facelift treatment, needles smaller and finer than the needles used in full-body acupuncture are inserted in your face’s “wisdom creases.” Needles are placed strategically to tighten sagging muscles at the jaw, neck, and smile lines. They stimulate new collagen growth which smoothes out wrinkles. Additional ordinary acupuncture needles are place into the hands and feet to balance the effect on the head. The needles are retained in place for 40 minutes, during which time you will feel pleasantly relaxed and may take a short nap. The needles stimulate the body’s healing energies and increase circulation. When they are removed, the skin tightens and becomes smoother and younger-looking. Fine lines may be entirely erased, deeper lines reduced, and bags around the neck and eyes firmed. Side effects of the treatment include stress reduction, less sinus congestion, and less acne. The needles placed in your hands and feet may also help with other physical ailments, and you should discuss such disorders with your acupuncturist prior to treatment.

The needles are pre-sterilized, individually packaged, and disposable. Before the treatment, your face is gently cleansed. After the treatment, a light moisturizer is applied. All products used are natural dermaceuticals. The treatments last one and a half hours. Results may be seen after the first treatment but usually are apparent after several sessions.

Like cosmetic surgery, an acupuncture facelift requires the client to make a commitment of time and energy. Unlike facial surgery, there is no cutting, time spent looking like a mummy, or massive bruises.

The acupuncture facelift treatments are given in a twelve-week program with one treatment per week. The cost of each treatment is $100.

After completing the course of treatment, the client can come in when she/he feels the creases are reappearing, every other month, or once a season. Many people find the treatments so relaxing that they choose to come in regularly.
